DAVO Helps Poczta Polska Customize Keypad For Automated Paczkowe

This article describes how DAVO assisted a Poczta Polska to develop a dedicated keypad for parcel lockers

Basic Situation

Poland has the most parcel machines in Europe. The increase in demand for deliveries to collection points (and not by courier to the door) is
- as experts note - the result of the evolution of consumers' approach to e-shopping. They focus on convenience and fast and free delivery,
with time and place playing a key role in this process. More and more people want to have a choice in terms of where and when to collect
the parcel, and parcel machines are the answer to these needs.

According to surveys, up to 82% of online shoppers most often choose to pick up packages at machines. In Poland, InPost, DHL, DPD and other
express delivery companies are all trying to get a share of this lucrative industry.

The President of Poczta Polska, Krzysztof Falkowski, announces that Poczta Polska will end this year with a thousand parcel machines, and
next year this number will increase threefold. One thousand of them will be located next to Biedronka stores.

Customer Demand Analysis

The customer plans to deploy the first batch of approximately 1000 parcel lockers in Poland. These lockers require durable and robust
keyboards for installation.

Upon receiving the customer's inquiry, we carefully analyzed the requirements:

Product Requirements: Metal keyboard
Keyboard Application: Parcel lockers
Location of Device Usage: Poland
Quantity: Approximately 1000 sets

Customer Pain Point

1. The keyboard must be durable and resistant to damage.
2. The keyboard needs to have four backlight options: white, red, yellow, and green.
3. Braille embossing is required on the keyboard keys.
4. The keyboard needs to be IP65 waterproof.
5. USB interface for plug-and-play functionality.

DAVO Product Solutions

1. The keyboard shell and keys are made of 304 stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to malicious damage.
2. The keyboard is coated with a layer of waterproof silicone, and the PCB board is coated with three-proof paint to ensure an IP65 waterproof rating.
3. Different colored high-quality LEDs are used inside the keyboard to achieve different backlight colors.
4. Text is etched and filled with black ink to increase visibility and durability.

The test results have greatly satisfied our customer. They have directly confirmed the first batch order of 1000 units.

Project Completion
The customer received the goods in February 2024 and immediately began installation, ensuring the successful deployment of the parcel lockers.
Currently, these lockers are conveniently serving people in major cities across Poland.
